I will write February 18, 2008

A few years ago a closer, dear friend told me, “one day you will write a novel containing stories of this trip.” and something about that has stuck with me. First off, I am not a natural born writer. Writing for me is like a singer trying to perform brain surgery. It is not their field, it is not what they have become to know. Way out of my league! So writing is a struggle. What can I say, I am a mathematician and a scientist. Writing only counts sometimes. So in having a friend I trust and respect say I was going to write a book, I questioned and pondered, “Could I really do this?”

So I kept this thought deep down, letting it twist and turn within me. I think about it once in a while. But as much as I … am frustrated with writing, it is how I can best express how I truly feel. It may not be beautiful or well written, but it is me, raw and put into words.

So i will write…. and see what masterpiece I can develop.
